Founded in 1902 the 4H is still an integral part of the education of young farmers. A nationwide organization kids experience 4?H in every county and parish in the country—through in-school and after-school programs, school and community clubs and 4?H camps.
Their programs are grounded in the belief that kids learn best by doing. Kids complete hands-on projects in areas like science, health, agriculture, and citizenship,
One of the most well-known celebrations for 4H participants is the opportunity to show livestock at annual county fairs. This year, we were pleased to support our employee Josiah Allee in buying his hog. It's a Berkshire/old spot Heritage crossbreed.
The animals raised in this program are not pets. The students understand they are raising animals for food. We will be selling Josiah’s hog at Joe's this month.
We are proud to support Josiah in his 4H activities.
